How to Set up Fishtank

5.        Place the water heater inside the tank, pressing the suction cup from one end of the tank to secure it. Set the temperature on the heater based on the species of fish you would expect. For most tropical fish, in the temperature range from 75 to 80 degrees.

6.        Fill the tank with water, resulting in at least 5 inches space at the top of the tank.

7.        Connect the filter and heater.

8.        Place the light hood or submersible aquarium light at the top of the tank.

9.        Use 10 ml of water conditioner for every 10 gallons of water. This will remove chlorine and other contaminants.

Allow tank to sit for at least 72 hours before adding fish or other species. This will give the water time to reach proper temperature, aeration and remove any active chemicals or hard minerals.
